Trailing by 14 goals at halftime against minor premiers Kedron Wavell Cougars, the Bull Sharks turned things on their head in a thrilling third quarter with Kirra Tappenden's late Super Shot putting Bond in front late in the term.
And, after a thrilling final period where neither team could wrestle the advantage, it was Bond who had the ball in their possession when time ran out to secure a 61-60 triumph and spark wild celebrations on the Nissan Arena Show Court.
Queensland Firebirds training partner Sasha Flegler was named Grand Final MVP after a relentless midcourt display for the Bull Sharks while another Firebirds training partner - Tappenden - was a gamebreaker after being introduced at halftime, nailing three two-pointers as the Bull Sharks won the third term 22-9 in a championship deciding momentum swing.
"We definitely didn't start well and we've had a bit of a problem with that all season," Flegler said.
"We know we can get ourselves out of that sticky situation - ideally we don't want to be there to start off with - but we put ourselves there and we just talked about having fight and grit and staying in our Bond bubble.
"And I think we did that well. We improved, fixed it, and then we got the momentum.
"Lucky enough to get it at the end."
Defeat was a bitter pill to swallow for the Cougars, who came into the game on an eight-match winning run including back-to-back triumphs over the Bull Sharks to book the minor premiership and then a Grand Final berth.
Another win looked to be inevitable as they charged to a double-digit lead in the second quarter with Jesse Laga'aia running the midcourt and the defensive duo of Lillyana Rennie and Gemma Hutchings giving Bond goalers Mia Stower and Kaylin Van Gruenen plenty to think about.
Even after Bond's third-quarter blitz, the Cougars had their chances to seal the win in a topsy-turvy final quarter but when Lily Cubby's late two-point attempt to snatch the lead missed and was rebounded by Bond, the Bull Sharks held onto possession in the dying seconds to secure the triumph.
It was one of just three comeback wins in a day of shocks with the Cougars defeating Gold Coast Titans in the Ruby Division decider while Moreton Bay City Pulse defeated heavy favourites Brisbane South Wildcats in the M-League Grand Final.
The Ruby clash looked like being an upset for the Titans as they surged to a seven point lead in early in the fourth quarter but the Cougars showed why they were minor premiers as they ran down their opponents to secure a 60-57 win.
Titans midcourter Aaliyah Sheppard was named Grand Final MVP while Cougars goal shooter Simone Botha notched up 50 goals at 89 per cent.
Nobody expected the Pulse to secure the M-League crown, particularly when the undefeated Wildcats held a 10-point lead nearing halftime.
The Pulse refused to lay down however and clawed their way back into the contest before hitting the front with just five minutes remaining.
From there it was anyone's game but a two-pointer from Angus Burrett levelled the scores in the last minute before Kobe Webster snaffled a rebound from a missed two-pointer by Burrett and finished to secure the upset win for the Pulse 56-55.
Pulse's Billy Mayer was named MVP after an indefatigable display at centre for his team.
