Queensland Health has today announced the further easing of restrictions across Local Government Areas in South East Queensland as of 4pm Friday 20 August.
Those LGAs are Brisbane, Moreton Bay, Ipswich, Lockyer, Somerset, Logan, Redland, Sunshine Coast, Gold Coast, Noosa and Scenic Rim.
Restrictions will be lifted in the Cairns and Yarrabah local government areas to match those in the rest of the state, outside South East Queensland.
This means Indoor and outdoor events and stadiums can have 75% ticketed and allocated seating capacity.
However, some restrictions will remain in place for at least one more week.
People in these local government areas must still carry a mask at all times and wear it when you are indoors, or when you are outside and unable to physically distance.
COMMUNITY NETBALL
Fantastic news for our netball community, with the Premier’s announcement this morning that the strict restrictions placed on a range of Local Government Areas (LGAs) will be lifted at 4pm Friday 20 August 2021, which is earlier than previously advised.
The restrictions in the Cairns and Yarrabah Council areas will also now align to the rest of Queensland.
The easing of restrictions means that community sport and recreation in the relevant LGA’s will be able to recommence from 4pm on Friday 20 August.
This includes all netball activity including training sessions, fixtures, carnivals and all other netball-related gatherings.
While the restrictions are easing, some additional requirements will remain in place in the 11 South East Queensland LGAs to ensure the ongoing safety of Queenslanders at least until 4pm Friday 27 August 2021.
In addition to continuing to collect contact information through the Check In Qld App, these restrictions include:
- Outdoor sport and recreation can have one person per two square metres or 75% allocated seated and ticketed capacity
- Indoor sport and recreation can have one person per four square metres or 75% allocated seated and ticketed capacity
- Indoor spaces associated with outdoor based organisations such as clubhouses, will need to comply with the occupant density of one person per four square metres or 75% allocated seated and ticketed venues.
- Occupant density and physical distancing measures do not apply to the field of play, however attendees must observe physical distancing off the field of play, to the extent possible.
- Continued compliance with the COVID Safe Checklist.
- Events capped at 75% capacity, with 75% allocated seated and ticketed capacity for indoor events and outdoor events or one per four square metres indoors and one per two square metres outdoors.
The Queensland Government’s updated roadmap for easing of restrictions has additional information about the easing of restrictions.
