Netball Queensland is proud to announce the umpires who have been selected to participate at the Nissan State Titles in 2020. Based on the following selection criteria, 24 umpires have been chosen to officiate match play over the 3-day event at Nissan Arena (20 – 22 September).
- Umpire attendance and performance at the Emerging Talent Program
- Expression of Interest detailing previous, current, and future umpire achievements and goals
- Applying the selection criteria
It is especially pleasing to include developing umpires from regional locations to this event, and it is expected the flow-on effect will be positive when umpires apply the feedback gained from Netball Queensland umpire coaches upon return to their regular competition.
The Nissan State Titles are an opportunity for umpires to demonstrate their competency and potential for further development and progression to higher levels. In 2019, 10 umpires were selected into the Netball Queensland Umpire Development Squad, with activities including:
- Practical experiences to umpire State 17’s and 19’s training and match play, accompanied by umpire feedback from Netball Queensland umpire coaches
- Participating in theory sessions with the Netball Queensland Umpire Performance Squad and experienced umpire coaches
- Progression to Queensland Premier League Opens matches and HART Ruby Series matches
Netball Queensland congratulates all successful umpires on their selection.
