Netball Queensland (NQ) has established four strategic pillars of Grow, Play, Inspire and Lead to drive the ambitions of the sport in the state over the next three years.
NQ’s strategic plan for 2023-25 was revealed to member associations and netball community stakeholders at Saturday’s Leaders Conference-Lite in Brisbane, outlining the pathway to achieving the vision of making netball the most played and supported sport in Queensland.
The plan, the culmination of months of collaboration between the NQ board, staff, key stakeholders and feedback from Member Associations, outlines where the organisation will spend its main efforts to achieve the goals set out.
NQ Chief Executive Officer Kate Davies said the strategic plan outlines the choices NQ is going to make over the coming three years as the organisation strives toward our vision of being the most played and supported sport in Queensland.
“The first year of our plan focuses on consolidating and reinforcing our foundations with a few key initiatives to be delivered really well,” Davies said.
“Year two features the implementation of larger goals to grow our sport while year three is where we get bolder and capitalise on the foundations put in place in the previous years.
“The focus on initiatives that Grow, Play, Inspire and Lead will ensure we can deliver on our lofty but attainable ambitions.”
Other highlights of Saturday’s Leaders Conference-Lite included an NQ Financial Update, keynote speaker and former Australian Cricket Captain Belinda Clark AM sharing her record-breaking experiences on and off the field and a presentation from new preferred supplier Court Craft.
Attendees also learnt about the support clubs and associations can access through a new online Toolbox and were given the inside word on pre-season training from the new Head Coach of the Queensland Firebirds Bec Bulley and some of the Firebirds players themselves.
