The Queensland Firebirds Futures Academy (QFFA) regional umpire is the second Queensland official to obtain the accreditation in 2025 after Sunshine Coast's Ella Warren earlier this year.
Based in north Queensland, Hayley has umpired in 15 HART Premier Netball League matches this season despite not living in south-east Queensland - highlighting her dedication to her craft.
Entering the Netball Queensland pathway in 2023 through the Vicki Wilson Championships, Hayley's rise has been quick and she made her HPNL Ruby Division debut last year.
This season she has made another step up to umpire in the elite-level Sapphire Division earlier in 2025, and obtaining the A-Badge accreditation is impressive with many umpires taking at least 50 state league-level games to reach that level.
The A-Badge is the second-highest domestic umpiring accreditation within Australia, and Hayley’s achievement reflects her commitment, skill and composure in the high-pressure environment of Queensland’s premier netball competition.
"Hayley's achievement is proof that our renewed focus on developing regional talent through programs like QFFA and Ruby North is really starting to work," NQ Workforce Development Manager Claire Kleinschmidt said.
