Firebirds Futures squad members Jayden Molo, Brook Lacey and Aaliyah Sheppard along with Lily Cubby have all been named in the 12-strong squad selected for the Spirit Series to be held in Sydney during NAIDOC Week from July 8 to 11.
Sheppard, who debuted for the Futures earlier in this year's Super Netball Reserves after a breakout 2025 which included selection in the Queensland First Nations team, will be representing the Black Swans for the first time.
The inaugural Spirit Series, announced by Netball Australia on Wednesday, features the Black Swans competing against the national teams of Fiji, Singapore and Papua New Guinea.
Aimed at celebrating pride, culture and excellence for First Nations and Indo-Pacific women in netball, the series will be held during NAIDOC Week, an annual initiative celebrating and recognising the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
It will be delivered in partnership with the Australian Government through PacificAus Sports, and proudly supported by the Confident Girls Foundation, Suncorp and Arrpwere.
Audiences throughout Australia, the Pacific region and the world will be able to watch the Spirit Series live, with broadcast details to be announced in the coming weeks.
