Following a successful inaugural season in 2025, the four regional franchises - Far North Flames, North Queensland United, Capricorn Claws and defending champions the Mackay Monarchs - now have the opportunity to compete for the title on the state’s premier netball stage.
All four franchises will feature on Grand Final Day, with the top two teams contesting the championship decider and the remaining sides competing for third place. Held alongside the HART Premier Netball League Sapphire, Ruby and M-League Grand Finals, the new format ensures Ruby North athletes are showcased in front of south-east Queensland clubs and fans.
The introduction of a centralised Finals Day also strengthens pathway visibility for regional athletes - particularly those considering relocating to Brisbane for university, work or elite netball opportunities.
Across the regular season, each franchise will again host a full round of fixtures across four dedicated weekends, bringing high-level netball to communities across Cairns, Townsville, Rockhampton and Mackay.
Introduced to fill a gap in Queensland’s regional high-performance pathway, the inaugural Ruby North season was widely praised for showcasing talent outside the south-east and providing meaningful competition and development opportunities for athletes, coaches and officials across northern and central Queensland.
The Mackay Monarchs claimed the maiden title, helping build strong momentum heading into 2026.
