Down by six with just three minutes to go, the Thunder went on a remarkable run thanks to the hot hand of Annika Lee-Jones who hit four two-pointers in a row before Ebony Martyn's Super Shot put the hosts ahead with under a minute to go.
That was enough time however for Amber Yeates to land another two-pointer, this time for the Tigers, to lock the scores up 55-all at the final siren.
The draw was the Tigers' first points of the season after back-to-back defeats in the opening rounds of the campaign.
For the Thunder, they now have a win, a loss and a draw from their first three matches.
Elsewhere on the weekend, the ICare Group Australia Ipswich Jets moved top of the standings with a perfect three wins from three matches this season after a five-point victory at Nissan Arena over the Moreton Bay City Pulse on Saturday.
With scores locked up 23-all at halftime, the Jets pulled away to hold a six-goal lead at the final change.
The Pulse got within one in the final quarter before a late surge by the Jets secured a 48-43 win.
Kedron-Wavell Cougars bounced back from the Round 2 loss to the Jets, defeating the previously unbeaten Gold Coast Titans 63-55 at Nissan Arena on Saturday.
Nalani Makunde led the way with 50 goals for the Cougars who welcomed back several Firebirds Futures representatives following the conclusion of the Super Netball Reserves season.
Premiers Bond University Bull Sharks flexed their muscles in a dominant 82-57 win over the Brisbane South Wildcats.
Ahead by eight goals at three-quarter time, the Bull Sharks piled on 25 points in the final term to surge to their second win of the season.
The Wildcats sit last on the ladder with three defeats from their matches so far.
