Marinkovich, a product of the Netball Queensland pathways, will share her journey from junior netball days through her playing career and onto her incredibly successful coaching achievements.
A former Queensland Firebird, Perth Orioles and West Coast Fever player, Marinkovich was appointed head coach of the Diamonds in 2020 after an impressive stint at the helm of the Fever.
Since then she has ensured Australia has regained the Commonwealth Games gold medal (2022) and World Cup trophy (2023).
Marinkovich has also won the Constellation Cup and Quad Series during her stint with the Diamonds to complete a full set of international silverware.
“I’m super excited to be giving the keynote address to Netball Queensland members at Leaders Conference,” Marinkovich said.
“As a proud Queenslander I look forward to sharing my journey with those in attendance and hearing about the exciting and positive things happening in the game I love across my home state.”
In addition to Marinkovich’s address, Netball Queensland is delighted to announce the World Cup trophy won by the Diamonds will be on display throughout the two-day event allowing attendees the chance to see the iconic trophy in person.
“Getting the insights of Stacey fresh from her World Cup triumph is a huge plus for our Netball Queensland members at this year’s Leaders Conference,” Netball Queensland CEO Kate Davies said.
“Stacey has proven herself on the biggest stage as an incredible coach and leader, taking our Diamonds back to the very pinnacle of world netball.
“I’m sure her story will be one that everyone in attendance will be intrigued to hear.”
The 2023 NQ Leaders Conference is being held at the Hilton Brisbane from October 7 to 8 as the netball community unites to reflect on the accomplishments of the past 12 months and take the chance to shape the future of the game in Queensland.
