Youth Advisory Board

The Queensland Firebirds and Netball Queensland are excited to announce the formation of our Youth Advisory Board. 

In creating the Youth Advisory Board, we have two primary objectives:

1. to listen to the voice of young people: create a clear and formal avenue for young people to influence and shape our decision-making; and
2. to build leaders for the future: to develop our youth and prepare them for leadership roles and responsibilities in the future.

The Youth Advisory Board will act like a “Shadow Board” providing insights, advice, ideas and challenging the status quo - across the Queensland Firebirds Club and Netball Queensland. We truly value a diversity of perspectives and experiences and we believe that netball’s future will be stronger and more successful if young people are informing our strategy.  

Are you up for a Youth Board role?

We are looking for a group of young people with a strong connection to netball- Player, coach, umpire, or volunteer.  What is essential is a passion and connection to our purpose -transforming lives through netball.  We are not looking for the best netball players, rather the best thinkers, collaborators, innovators, entrepreneurs and creators – who all share a connection to this great sport.  Further information including criteria will be published at the end of April.
