This achievement stands as a testament to the generosity and commitment of our community (donations commenced being accepted through the ASF’s platform in 2020 and NetballConnect in 2021).
Diamond Spirit is a capacity-building program delivered in school and community settings, with a mission to Educate, Engage and Empower First Nations girls, young women and their communities through the power of netball.
Diamond Spirit Educate Hubs build culturally safe and supported learning environments to improve academic and post-school outcomes for First Nations girls and young women in Years 7-12. Activities delivered as part of the Educate pillar, including leadership and cultural camps, are designed to enhance students’ emotional engagement with learning and post-school opportunities.
Moreover, our community programs extend netball opportunities to some of Queensland's most remote communities, promoting access and enabling upskilling. These initiatives encompass regular school-based netball clinics and pathways into inter-community competitions, nurturing talent and community cohesion alike.
These achievements are aided with support from Health and Wellbeing Queensland, Education Queensland and the Confident Girls Foundation as well as the community donations, demonstrating the collective effort required to make a meaningful impact.
As we reflect on this milestone, we extend our heartfelt gratitude to all who have contributed to the success of the Diamond Spirit program. Your support contributes to our vision to be the most played and supported sport across all of Queensland.
