Netball Queensland (NQ) hosted Woolworths NetSetGO clinics across the month starting with clinics throughout all four days of our biggest Junior State Age event yet at Downey Park.
Attendees had the opportunity to take part and build on their athletic skills through target practice, games and ‘Rock the Bike’ smoothie making challenges. The clinics showed great popularity across all the ages with younger siblings and our older competitors all lining up to come and try.
Over 250 boys and girls joined in our Woolworths NetSetGo clinics over the school holidays, making healthy choices at the free fruit stations provided by Woolworths.
The 190 attendees at the Nissan Arena clinics had plenty to do - making friendship bracelets with the Queensland Firebirds, snacking on fruit and participating in team events.
Meanwhile down south we hosted our largest Gold Coast clinic ever with 75 participants joining in the fun and spreading the love of netball.
Woolworths NetSetGO clinics are tailored for each age group from working on fundamental motor skills for five to six-year-olds, beginning modified match play for seven to eight-year-olds and netball specific skills for nine to 10-year-olds. It all means everyone can get in the game, have fun and make new friends while enjoying all that netball has to offer.
That message has also been expanded into schools through NQ’s Woolworths NetSetGO school programs, which provide students the opportunity to try netball when they cannot reach a nearby centre.
This growing program provides students with a fun structured session, delivered by a qualified coach, and the opportunity to develop their sporting skills, confidence and team sportsmanship.
Although Woolworths NetSetGo month is ending, it does not mean the fun is over! September holiday clinics registrations are open now, and our Term 4 School Woolworths NetSetGo begins soon. Don’t miss out on the fun, register your school for Term 4 now!
