Heading into its third year, the YAG was established by the Netball Queensland (NQ) board to provide a platform for youth voices to be heard, fostering discussion, feedback and the exchange of ideas.
NQ is seeking 10 members, aged between 12 to 24, to form the YAG in a 10-month term starting in February 2024.
“While the YAG isn’t a decision-making body, it serves as a vital channel for the diverse perspectives of young individuals in our sport,” NQ General Manager Netball Glenn Dennis said.
“Being a member of the group is also an incredible opportunity for personal and professional development, giving insights into the many aspects of how NQ operates across the state.”
Members of the YAG will contribute to NQ's strategic objectives by providing valuable commentary and feedback on a range of topics, including participation in netball, NQ initiatives and programs, and marketing strategies targeted at the youth demographic. The group will also play a crucial role in informing the development of strategies aligned with the Netball Queensland Strategic Plan 2023 – 2025.
YAG members hold monthly virtual meetings, discussing multiple issues and hearing from and presenting to various members of the NQ community.
If you’re interested in shaping the future of netball in Queensland, applications are open now to eligible individuals.
