Youth Advisory Group
The Youth Advisory Group (YAG) has been established by the Netball Queensland Board to provide a forum for Youth members to discuss views and ideas and provide feedback to Netball Queensland management on the youth sentiment and experience of participating in netball. The Youth Advisory Group is a valuable personal and professional development opportunity. While the YAG is not a decision‑making body, it plays an important role in providing insights and advice to Netball Queensland based on the diverse experiences and perspectives of young people.
What's involved
The role commences in July 2026 and concludes in June 2027 The YAG meets monthly Meetings are virtual, held on a Monday, and run for two hours (4.30pm–6.30pm) Members should allow approximately 3–4 hours per month for preparation and related tasks The YAG consists of 10 members (two Co‑Chairs and eight members) Positions are voluntary, with reimbursement of Netball Queensland‑approved expenses, where required
Expectations of YAG Members
Participate actively in discussions and provide considered comments, suggestions, and feedback Represent the views of the broader netball community, not only their personal or club perspective Contribute to building an active, respectful, and effective advisory group Demonstrate an understanding of, or willingness to quickly develop an understanding of, the Netball Queensland Strategic Plan 2026–2028 Demonstrate commitment to Netball Queensland values and work collaboratively with others Prepare for meetings by reviewing materials distributed in advance and, where appropriate, seeking feedback from the netball community Be reasonably available to attend scheduled meeting
